Start with the device, not the cart. A few dimensions and workflow details can prevent the wrong configuration from reaching your clinic.

Identify the exact device

Record the manufacturer, full model name and any attached modules. Two devices in the same family can use different interfaces. A photograph of the underside and the existing mounting plate is often more useful than a photograph of the screen.

Check the complete load

Consider the device and the accessories that will be supported with it. Share their weights and positions with the supplier. A published load limit alone does not establish that a particular setup is suitable; the mounting interface and complete configuration also need review.

Plan movement and storage

Think about doorways, space beside the bed, cable routing and the items staff need to carry. Decide whether a basket or tray is useful and where it should sit. Confirm the base footprint and the braking arrangement against the intended workspace.

Ask for a configuration record

Before ordering, request the agreed device interface, components and dimensions in one configuration record. Keep this with the order so replacement adapters, baskets and castors can be identified later.
